Our Programs
We primarily offer programming to schools and youth groups, with multiple program options available. See the details of the different options below.
If you work with kids and are interested in hosting one of these programs, please fill out an interest form below or email us!
We also hold some community and family-based events outside of the schools. You can see details of those below as well, when we have upcoming events.

Kids In Nature Guided Hikes
Our guided nature hikes encourage curiosity and connect kids with nature through hands-on discovery and learning to identify Ohio’s native plant and animal species. Youth will be led through a guided hike by one of our experienced K.I.N. Instructors at one of Central Ohio’s many beautiful local and state parks. Through exploration of the nature surrounding them and their peers, students will leave our guided hikes feeling closer to the natural world.

KIN in the Classroom
Our K.I.N. single-day, nature-focused programming offers grade-specific outdoor learning experiences designed to bring the Great Outdoors into your own classroom. Each program is carefully aligned with the State of Ohio’s K–12 Science Education Standards, ensuring that hands-on exploration of the natural world directly supports classroom learning. Whether investigating nearby ecosystems, creating their own miniature greenhouses, or studying weather patterns, students engage in meaningful, age-appropriate activities that bring science to life — all in the vibrant setting of the outdoors in your own community!

Garden Club Start-Up Initiative
During our Garden Club Start-Up Initiative, trained Kids In Nature staff and volunteers help schools and other youth serving organizations start their own community or school garden. Through our 6-8 week program, participants will learn how to plan, plant, and maintain their own garden. Once the program is completed and the garden is ready, K.I.N will provide our partner organization with a year-long curriculum to continue operating the Gardening Club, even without Kids In Nature staff being present!
“Kids In Nature is an amazing program that not only teaches kids about the great outdoors but also immerses them in it! Their visit to our after-school program exceeded our expectations as we trailed through Three Creeks Metro Park with over 30 students. For many of the students this was a first time visit and there was no better introduction to all the awe- inspiring things that are waiting right in our own back yards here in Central Ohio. Students learned about the Paw Paw tree, which bears North America’s largest fruit. Students were also amazed to learn about the Native American tribes who passed through 3 creeks utilizing the trees to make canoes and waterways to travel. The two founders of Kids In Nature, Nat and Ariel were astounding hosts and educators. We hope to work with Kids In Nature for years to come to continue to educate our students on the importance of nature conservation and metro parks."
